Tech Prep: School-based Learning

Career Awareness
All students have the opportunity to become aware of the full range of career options that are available to them. In classroom and special instructional settings, the spectrum of careers in our ever expanding economy are presented to students in a variety of ways. Career Awareness is designed to give students the ability to make an informed choice about career areas.

Students Achieve High Academic Standards
All students receive a solid academic background that will provide
them with the academic skills necessary for success in the world
of work. Standards must be high because outside of the school
settings success will be measured strictly on achievement. There are
no grades in the world of work.

Articulated Programs Leading to Post Secondary Education
Programs are developed that lead directly to post secondary educational programs. All students must continue their education and training beyond high school with the goal of becoming life-long learners. The rapidly changing technology of business and industry demands that all workers are students.

Instruction Includes Workplace and Academic Skills
Students are involved in academic programs that include workplace skills as well as academic development. When a student leaves the school setting, he or she must be prepared to meet the demands of the workplace and be able to easily transfer the skills developed in the classroom to the workplace.

It's a partnership! It's a community-based system! It's an opportunity!
